It's time for another "How To Be Productive" Post
Especially combatting the media's enabling of TFG.
I need to be working (like, earn-a-living working) right now but I have spent the past three hours trying to put out more Real World Alternative Plan-less Biden Needs To Drop Out fires (among other kinds) in a local, progressive discussion group.
My TED Talking points always include the prospect of the GOP filing lawsuits.
One young (I think) person, bless their heart, told me I was worrying about the threat of something, not a reality. And what legal standing do they have, which led to "if the local courts don't throw it out, the Supreme Court will."
All that aside, the person missed the part where I said it wasn't about winning the lawsuits.
So I came back with articles and illustrations to explain my point.
And was told "those articles are reassuring" and the GOP lawsuits sounded like "posturing."
That was right after the "Genocide Joe is a hypocrite coming out against political violence" comments.
This is OUR team in a swing state. In a college town.
I spent a whole morning trying to counter this sh't with well-sourced reason.
And then Aileen Cannon?
I'm broken today.
Please provide suggestions for how to fight productively and not get burned out. Because I'm burned out right now, just with our own side.
Going To Need A Clip of Michael Steele on Ari
Yes, MSNBC-fast fail. Again.
But I just caught Michael Steele going TO TOWN on the notion of Biden stepping down.
He talked about the rank-and-file support ( do not p!!! them off ). He talked about the hard realities of switching out candidates now (money). He harrumphed the seriousness of the polls right now ( it's JULY! IT'S JULY! ).
He told everyone to gird their loins and get to work.
"How do you lose when you haven't run the race?"
I want this to be my new Sleep Sounds.
